2 NJ Homes Sell For Record Prices—In The Same Town
A newly constructed glass estate and another expansive home in one Bergen County town sold for a trend-setting price.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Bergen County's towns consistently rank near the top on lists of safest places to live and best school districts — and because they're within commuting distance to Manhattan, demand is high.
Recently, two multimillion-dollar homes sold in one northern Bergen County town, both breaking sales records for that town.

A newly built glass estate in Tenafly sold for $7 million in July, said the agent representing the buyer, Alexandra Reier of Douglas Elliman. That was the highest priced home to sell in that town, she noted.

Then, in August, another home in that town sold for $7.36 million.
"Part of what makes Tenafly so attractive is the great downtown area and highly regarded school systems," Reier told Patch on Wednesday.

Reier added, "Another plus would be the easy commute, particularly for anyone who works in New York City but also values space and privacy."

The glass house has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and two half baths on around an acre of property.
Special features include a poolhouse with kitchen, a sauna, a 3,000-pound marble bathtub, and a wine cellar divided into white and red.
The estate has glass windows on all sides and is bordered by a nature preserve.
The home that sold for $7.36 million is a newer modern farmhouse style home with six bedrooms, a tennis court, and a pool, said listing agent Orly Chen in a report on NJ.com.
Several other Tenafly homes are currently for sale at prices of $3 million or more.
But Tenafly isn't completely unaffordable, for those at the other end of the financial spectrum. A one-bedroom condo is currently listed for under $200,000.
