2 Glen Rock Sports Teams Honored By School Board

GLEN ROCK, NJ — Two high school sports teams in Glen Rock were honored by the school board on Monday for "outstanding seasons," a spokesperson said.

At monday's Glen Rock Board of Education meeting, the girls' tennis and soccer teams and their players were recognized.

The board said that Girls' Tennis are the NJSIAA North 1 Group 1 Sectional and Group Champions and NJIC Team of the Year.

The list of athletes is: Lilian Cole ’27, Keira Lin ’26, Sophia Lehr ‘26, Elizabeth Shulkin ‘28, Isabella Lin ’27, Sara Quiroz ’27, Sofie Nakon ‘29, Samantha Schassberger ‘27, Lujain Albeltagy ’28, Ariella Dyadyuk ‘28, Caden Campbell ‘27, Phoebe Kramer ‘29, Madeline Schwartz ‘26, Stephanie He ‘26, Emma Vassev ‘26, Stella Nuckley ‘29, Chloe Jang‘26, Ava Marcazo ‘27, Arianna Kulish ‘28, Leah Lee ‘27, and Olivia Leon ‘27.

They also recognized varsity head coach Matthew Markman, named New Jersey Girls Tennis Coach of the Year.

The soccer team won the 2025 Bergen County Soccer Officials Association Louis Eckhardt Sportsmanship Award, the district said.

The players include: Bridget Finn ‘28, Violet McGuire ‘28, Riley Crowe ‘28, Abigail Baker ‘27, Allison Mattis ‘27, Ana Laura Landreau ‘27, Elizabet Maga ‘27, Laila Chang ‘27, Samantha Mattis‘27, Abigail Grove ‘26, Alison Heenan ‘26, Annie Leonard ‘26, Ava Beaudoin ‘26, Belen Bullrich Alonso ‘26, Charlotte Cassin ‘26, Charlotte Gomez ‘26, Emily Hochman ‘26, Izabela Samu ‘26, Margaret Rundell ‘26, Mia Corcoran ‘26, Molly DiBiasi ‘26, Molly McNair ‘26, Sophia Lota ‘26, and Sydney Handler ‘26.

"Thank you to Mr. Steven Kopelman, Varsity Head Girls Soccer Coach, for leading this incredible team," the district said in a statement.
