Stumpy's Hatchet House opened its first Bergen County location on Friday.

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, NJ – One of the largest recreational ax-throwing venues in the country opened Friday in Upper Saddle River.
Stumpy’s Hatchet House held a soft opening this weekend of its 13th location – and first in Bergen County, according to the company.
Located just off Route 17 at 107 Pleasant Avenue, the 14,000-square-foot venue offers 16 lanes where customers can throw hatchets at wooden targets. Customers rent time by the hour, with a per-person rate of $25 an hour for one to four people, or $40 an hour for parties of five or more.

Stumpy’s Hatchet House co-founder Kelly Josberger told NJBiz.com said they think their success is partially because “people are just looking to do something that’s active and more of an experience” and that they are “seeing a lot of team-buildingevents for corporations and people who just want to do something out of the box.”
Within the last few years, a number of ax throwing facilities have popped up around the country, offering adults a new alternative for a night out with friends.
Within Bergen County, there is also Bury The Hatchet in Paramus and Hatchet House in Hackensack.
