Village Council to Discuss Fire Truck Purchase
Council has been skeptical on purchase of a new $1.4M ladder truck

The Ridgewood Village Council will be meeting Wednesday night and appears to have a fairly light plate on its hands.
Among the discussions expected to take place includes the possible purchase of a new ladder truck for the fire department.
Fire Chief Jim Van Goor appeared before the council over the fall and . The council previously allocated capital funds – about half of which have been – to the process.

It could take a year for a truck to arrive once it's ordered Van Goor stated, adding that refurbishing the existing truck could cost between $500,000 and $700,000 and still not meet accepted safety standards.
