Leapin' Lizards! North Jersey Theme Park Plans To Close, Sell Off Lifesized Dinosaurs
If you've got room, you can bid on a 30-foot Tyrannosaurus Rex and more, because Field Station: Dinosaurs In North Jersey is closing.

NORTH JERSEY — Hoping to buy a giant electronic dinosaur for the holidays?
A 14-year-old theme park in North Jersey, Field Station: Dinosaurs, will close in early November. They just began auctioning off their electronic, life-size dinos to the public on Thursday.
But there's a catch (caveat raptor?) If you buy one, you'll have to pick it up. And it helps to have a really big back yard.

"The park’s select, legendary life-sized dinosaurs will be listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace, with signs going up around the park and inventory available for viewing," a spokesperson announced this week.
The bidding for a three-story-tall Tyrannosaurus Rex began at $2,700 on Thursday, even though the company purchased it for $27,000, according to the spokesperson.

A triceratops was listed on Facebook Marketplace at a price of $1,668. The sign in the photo says, "Loves kids." The listing reads, "16' Juvenile Triceratops. Includes control box and speaker. Limited motion."
“Where do 30+ dinosaurs go when their park closes?” asked Guy Gsell, executive producer of Field Station: Dinosaurs. “Hopefully to a good home ... Just be sure you’ve got a big backyard.”
Field Station: Dinosaurs, located in Overpeck Park in Lodi, is a theme park with moving exhibits, live shows, and games that teach about dinosaurs.
The dinos are for sale here.
Final Events This Fall
Field Station is "going out with a bang," said the owners. It'll close this Nov. 9, but there will be some special events first:
This Saturday to Sunday: Jurassic Petting Zoo
They'll host an interactive encounter that lets visitors get closer than ever before with the Triceratops, Dimetrodon, Dilophosaurus, Ohmdenosaurus and Stegosaurus. Photo ops included.
Oct. 13: Dogs And Dinosaurs
Leash up your cretaceous canine and join them for a tail-wagging day on the trails. (Friendly dogs only; waste bags required and no retractable leashes permitted.)
Friday and Saturday Nights in October: Dinosaurs After Dark
From Oct. 3–25, visitors can take a lantern-lit journey through the haunted side of the Mesozoic, featuring the Dinosaur Séance, games, and a campfire sing-along. Part spooky, part silly, and completely unforgettable.
The park closes for good on Nov. 9. For tickets, farewell events, or a chance to adopt your own prehistoric pal, visit JerseyDinos.com
