Woman Killed Crossing Route 17 In Bergen County Saturday: Police
A woman in her 20s was struck by two vehicles while crossing Route 17 on Saturday morning, police said. She was pronounced dead.
PARAMUS, NJ — A woman in her 20s was fatally struck by two vehicles on Route 17 early Saturday morning, police in Paramus said.
Around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, the Paramus Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck on the highway, said Chief Robert Guidetti.
The victim was crossing the highway from east to west in the vicinity of Wendy’s, Guidetti said.

"After successfully crossing the northbound lanes and the roadway median, she entered the southbound lanes of Route 17," said Guidetti in an email. " Upon reaching the middle lane of traffic, she was struck by a white Kia."
The Kia was driven by a 42-year-old male, police said.

"Tragically, the pedestrian was then run over by a tractor-trailer also traveling southbound, operated by a 65-year-old male," Guidetti said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Guidetti told Patch around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday that the woman had not yet been identified.
The Paramus Police Crash Investigation Unit, Paramus Detectives, and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation are investigating, and the police will provide more details when they're available, the chief said.
