A River Dell alum and assistant boys soccer coach, Christopher Lubben, 48, of Oradell has been accused of simple assault stemming from an incident at Rite Aid this week when he alledgedly punched a 17-year-old boy in the head. According to Detective Sgt. William Wicker, the incident was captured on the retail pharmacy's surveillance cameras and Lubben was identified by store patrons and the victim. The 17-year-old sustained minor injuries. Lubben was charged with simple assault and has been released on his own recognizance pending a court hearing. Lubben graduated River Dell in 1982 and has been a member of the boys varsity coaching staff since 1991.
