Futuristic McDonald's Coming To River Edge In September

BREAKING: The restaurant will feature digital self-order kiosks and table service.

RIVER EDGE, NJ — The McDonald's on Main Street will reopen soon with a few futuristic touches.

The restaurant is being modernized with digital self-order kiosks table service, said Amanda Pissano, McDonald's brand reputation manager for the New York Metro region. The restaurant is slated to reopen in September.

The changes have already been rolled out in more than 2,600 international McDonald's locations.

Restaurants in the New York metropolitan region are some of the first in the United States to roll out the upgrades.

The kiosks allow diners "more choice and control" over their food by "evolving how they order, what they order, how they pay and how they are served," Pissano said.
