Girl Scouts Host First Annual Children's Health Fair
Oradell's Victoria Scalanga and Olivia Schuster created a Children's Health Fair for their Silver Award Project
To earn their Girl Scout Silver Award, Oradell Troop 995 members Victoria Scalanga and Olivia Schuster recently organized the first ever Children's Health Fair for students from kindergarten to sixth grade.
"We wanted something that affects people's lives and we're proud this is the first health fair," Scalanga and Schuster said.
To make the health fair a reality, the duo sent out letters to local businesses and students to raise awareness about the event. From there they solicitated donations and participants including , , the New Jersey Concussion Center, and more.

"We want kids to be able to learn something new and take it back home with them," Schuster said.
"Hopefully this is something the could continue in years to come," Scalanga added.

Each of the professionals on hand during the event discussed a variety of topics from how to prevent sports injuries, the importance of good posture-backpack safety, skin care, signs and symptoms of concussions, fitness/martial arts, and dental care.
