Letter: Support for Anthony Cappola, River Edge Council

Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter with regard to Councilman Anthony Cappola and the outstanding qualities which make him the ideal person to represent your interests. It has been my privilege to know Anthony for the last 25 years. Over those years, Mr. Cappola has demonstrated leadership, passion and dedication which is unmatched. 

Anthony’s business acumen was clearly evident early on. While only a teenager, Anthony began his own entertainment business while the rest of us were playing games and watching television. Starting out in his parents’ living room, he turned a dream into a reality and has since turned that business into one of the most successful entertainment companies in northern NJ. Anthony was able to accomplish this on his own, without financial support from family or friends and did not even require a loan.  Hard work, tenacity and dedication made his efforts pay off. There were no handouts for Anthony. 

Even more impressively, he accomplished this business growth while simultaneously attaining a master’s degree in special education. This feat should not be taken lightly. It takes a unique set of skills to achieve success in each of these two very different fields. This takes academic ability, business savvy, empathy and unique interpersonal skills. It is exactly this combination of qualities that makes Mr. Cappola uniquely qualified to serve a community.

As a medical student, I worked long hours, overnight shifts and was often exhausted. When I would come home from the hospital for a break though, I would always find that Anthony was the only one working harder than me! He was the one who needed a break; I still don’t think he has taken one. It is this dedication that Anthony brings to all challenges before him and that is why I am confident in his abilities to lead a community.
