Man Wanted for Murder, Drug Charges Captured in Bergen County
The man was captured with the help of a K-9 after freeing himself from police.

A New York man who was wanted for murder and drug distribution charges was captured in Bergen County Wednesday.
Kevin Frye, 37, of Manhattan, attempted to flee in a Range Rover by ramming police cruisers back and forth after U.S. Marshals and Hackensack Police Officers arrived to a Hackensack apartment where he was staying with a female, Cliffview Pilot reported.
When the Range Rover’s airbags deployed, Frye jumped out of the truck, freed himself from two officers and fled towards Route 4, according to Cliffview Pilot. He was later captured with the help of a K-9 and was brought to Hackensack University Medical Center for a bite to the ankle.

A Hackensack Police Officer was also injured when his hand went through the window of the a vehicle, NorthJersey.com reported. Authorities say Cherry Hill Elementary School was locked down as a precaution.
According to News 12 New Jersey, Frye was “wanted on conspiracy to distribute Oxycodone charges stemming from a DEA indictment” and was considered armed and dangerous.
