The River Edge Beautification Committee held their annual plant sale on Saturday at Firehouse Co. 1. Committee Chair, Michele Cariddi, said that the money raised goes to designing, planting and maintaining borough gardens. "Our Beautification Committee is self-funding," Cariddi said. "This year we were fortunate in that we received an open space grant." In addition to plants, there was one-of-a-kind artwork by co-chair Karen Sabatello. The Beautification Committee is also working on a boulder garden behind the library.  Calling all gardeners--Cariddi said that the Beautification Committee is actively seeking volunteers who want to get their hands dirty and help plant gardens throughout the borough to keep the town looking beautiful.
