
The River Edge Mayor and Council is holding a combined work session and public meeting Monday beginning at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Borough Hall.
During the work session portion of the meeting, the Mayor and Council will be discussing approval to hire a police officer and the Borough Clerk going out to bid for a new HVAC system at Borough Hall.
Borough Engineer Bob Costa will be on hand to discuss Bergen County's ADA Cooperative Curb Ramp Construction Grant Program. The lightning detection system and the drainage system on Voorhis Ave. will also be discussed.
During the public portion of the meeting, a plaque will be presented to Lt. Rich Curran of the River Edge Police Dpt.
An ordinance regulating parking north of the business district -- between Washington Ave. and Lincoln Ave., and Grove Street is on the agenda and open for discussion.

Knit n Sew Studio presents 'Dressing Our Dolls' at the River Edge Public Library at 7 p.m. Monday night. Join Debbie Trainor, owner of Knit n Sew Studio, for an intergenerational program of sharing memories of handmade doll clothes of your childhood with the children in your life.
Children ages 5 and up are welcomed as long as they are accompanied by a parent, grandparent or caregiver. Children are encouraged to bring a doll.
The presentation includes a variety of dolls and the clothes that are handmade for them. Beginning with a sewing pattern from 1930, Debbie has examples of doll clothes that are knit, sewn, and crocheted based on patterns from each decade of the 20th century and some that are currently available.
Dolls include American Girl, Corolle Dolls, Barbie, Ginny Dolls, Nancy Ann Story Book Dolls, Betsy McCall, and Mary Hoyer Dolls. This presentation is designed to inspire young people to appreciate the needle arts. Creating doll clothes is a teriffic way to learn to sew, knit, and/or crochet.
