Wi-Fi Coming to River Edge and Oradell Terminals
New Jersey Transit's board voted to enter into an agreement with Cablevision to provide Wi-Fi at its stations and on its trains, according to an agency release.

Rail riders will soon be able to surf the web on their tablet or laptop at the River Edge and Oradell Terminals and other major mass transit hubs.
New Jersey Transit's board voted Wednesday to enter into a 20-year contract with Cablevision to offer Wi-Fi at its stations and on trains via a dedicated, trackside Wi-Fi network, the public transit agency announced in a statement Wednesday.
“This public-private partnership will enable NJ Transit to deliver on one of the top requests from our customers — wireless internet access at stations and onboard trains,” NJT executive director James Weinstein said in a statement. “We are thrilled to work with Cablevision to further enhance the overall customer experience on our system by offering a dedicated Wi-Fi connection — which as designed will be the first of its kind here in the United States.”
