Winners of Oradell Public Library's 100th Anniversary Art and Essay Contest
Library announces the winners of the100th anniversary art and essay contest.

At the recent celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Oradell Public Library, the winners of the art and essay contests for students at the local schools were announced. The theme of both contests was a pictorial or written work which represented the student’s connection to books and libraries.
In each area, a panel of experienced judges reviewed all the entries and determined the winners. Judges for the art contest were Mary McGlynn, Jill Van Praagh, and Aaron Yount. The essay judges were Sally Isaacs, Antoinette Rainone, and Cathy Sears.
There were four categories and the winners are:

Art—Grades K-3
- First Prize – Daniel Pinto-Shaw, Grade 1, Oradell Public School
- Second Prize – Katherine Young, Grade 3, Saint Joseph’s School
- Third Prize – Matthew Casado, Grade 2, Oradell Public School
Art—Grades 9-12

- First Prize – Lindsey Clark, Grade 12, River Dell Senior High
- Second Prize – Alexandra Iaccino, Grade 9, River Dell Senior High
- Third Prize – Jennifer Schwartz, Grade 9, River Dell Senior High
Essay—Grades 4-6
- First Prize – Miles Abssy, Grade 5, Oradell Public School
- Second Prize – Ryan Gannon, Grade 4, Oradell Public School
- Third Prize – Rebekah Choi, Grade 6, Oradell Public School
Essay—Grades 7-8
- First Prize – Annabella Corallo – Grade 7, Saint Joseph’s School
- Second Prize – Juliana Esoldi, Grade 7, Saint Joseph’s School
- Third Prize – Aprile Bertomo, Grade 7, Saint Joseph’s School
The contest prizes were sponsored by the Oradell Education Association, the Oradell-Emerson AM Rotary, and the Friends of the Library.
