5 Things You Need to Know Today: August 30

Here is a list of 5 things you need to know today:

1. Sunshine, Daydream: According to the National Weather Service, today will be another beautiful day. Skies will be sunny with a high near 81 degrees. There will be a north wind around 7 mph. Tonight will be mostly clear with a low around 63 degrees. There will be a west wind between 3 and 5 mph. 

2. Powerless, Again: Many residents in Rumson and Fair Haven are still without power over 2 days after  hit our area. Both Rumson and Fair Haven have most of their, but power is still missing in many homes and businesses. 3. Irene on Facebook: Social networking sites have been buzzing with personal accounts and experiences from Rumson and Fair Haven residents that truly personalize the effects of  on locals. 4. Fair Fun: Each year, thousands of people come to Fair Haven to enjoy one of the most talked about and well-known carnivals in New Jersey. The fair and was filled with neighbors and friends enjoying the food, fun and games. Local residents attending the fair, as well as volunteers, talked to Patch and shared their favorite part of the annual event. 5. Junior League: The JLMC is actively recruiting for the 2011-2011 New Member Class. They invite all interested people to join them for a casual meet-n-greet for prospective members.  Learn about the volunteering, educational and social opportunities the Junior League of Monmouth County offers. The event is tonight at 7:00 p.m. at in Fair Haven. Appetizers will be provided.
