1. Some Sun and Showers: According to the National Weather Service, there will be a chance of showers this afternoon. The rest of the day will be partly sunny with a high near 58 degrees and a bit breezy with a south wind between 18 and 20 mph. The showers will continue into the night with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 45 degrees. There will be a west wind between 14 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

2. Hunger Challenge: Students at the in Rumson received the “Spirit of Giving Award” from the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. The award came from their participation in the annual School Holiday Hunger Challenge. This event is a food drive that challenges all elementary, intermediate and high schools in Monmouth and Ocean County to collect food for those less fortunate during the holiday season. 3. Giving Tree: The Rumson Country Day School hosted a giving tree to benefit Family & Children's Service of Monmouth County. Last week they delivers over 8 cars full of toys to the orgaization in Long Branch. Click to see a video about the toy collection.

5. No Cell in Car: Should drivers be banned from using a cellphone, even in hands-free mode? The federal National Transportation Safety Board doesn't believe it makes any difference whether the driver is holding the cellphone or using it in handsfree mode—all cellphone use by motorists is hazardous, the agency said.
