1. A Beautiful Day: According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly sunny with a high near 71 degrees. There will be an east wind between 7 and 13 mph. Take some time to enjoy the sun because tonight will be mostly cloudy with a low around 58 degrees and an east wind around 11 mph and tomorrow will start a couple days of rain.
2. Tiny Touchdowns: Thursday night, before the Varsity football players took the field to play the Monmouth Regional Falcons, the littlest football players in the area ran out on the turf at Two River Times Field at . The entire community came together on this special night to celebrate the anniversary of Flag Football in Rumson-Fair Haven. Kevin Kelly, Flag Football Commissioner, began the program ten years ago. 3. How You Like Them Apples? If you recently found your preschooler planting apple seeds in the flower pots on the deck, it can only mean one thing: Johnny Appleseed in back in town. And with those tales of sowing apple seeds from east to west comes the perfect time to get your kids out into the fresh air to see that apples actually come from trees and not from the shelves of Foodtown. In Monmouth County, there are two orchards offering pick-your-own apples, Eastmont Orchards in Colts Neck and in Freehold. Click for more details
4. Costume Cocktail Party: Today is the last day to RSVP for the Centennial Costume Party to be held on Saturday, October 22 at the in Fair Haven at a discounted price. The theme is "Through the Century" and attendees are asked to come dressed as their favorite decade of the last century. Pre-sale tickets are $45 per person and include light fare and 2 rnks of wine or beer. Tickets are $50 at the door. Late4Lunch is the band that will be performing and there will also be a cash bar.
