Here is a list of 5 things you need to know today:

1. Clouds and Showers: According to the National Weather Service, today will be cloudy, with a high near 61 degrees. There will be a light northwest wind and a 50 percent chance of showers this afternoon. Tonight, showers could continue with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 49 degrees. There will be a north wind between 5 and 10 mph.

2. Get Your Popcorn: Fair Haven Boy Scout Troop 125 helped the community as they fundraised outside of the on River Rd. this past Saturday. In total, 22 Scouts participated in the Blitz Sale. The boys sold about $1,500 worth of popcorn and received another $600 in monetary donations. $100.00 will go directly to shipping popcorn to our military personnel serving overseas. 3. Do We Need a Bike Lane? Local parents are concerned for their children who ride their bike to work. They propoed a bike lane on Fair Haven Rd. spanning between Third St. and Willow St, approximately 676 feet in length. Do you think we need a Fair Haven Bike Lane? 4. Tree Talk: The final hearing for the appeal of a tree remmoval on 35 Navesink Ave will take place tonight at the Rumson Planning Board Meeting at 7:30 p.m. at. The hearing is a where Rumson residents claim there is an extreme violation to the town’s Tree Protection Ordinance. The Planning Board will be reviewing a landscaping plan by the developer which proposed 12 small trees to replace 65 mature trees.

5. Victory is Growing: Rumson is moving forward with the demolition of the boarded-up building on West River Rd. adjacent to . The borough acquired the lot with a in 2008 and completed the transaction this year. Their next step is to take down the current building and blend this land addition in with Victory Park.
