Annual Soup Crawl to take place 4/12 to benefit charity

The Soup Crawl 2025 is back to raise funds for Project PAUL and support local businesses. The Soup Crawl stems from local “soupervisors” John Puchalski, Matt and Tyler Christie, and John Portela combining their love of soup and frequenting local restaurants with soup on the menu.

The idea expanded to include collecting for Project PAUL (Poor, Alienated, Unemployed, Lonely), the Keansburg-based charity that services qualified people in the Bayshore area of Monmouth County, including Keansburg, Aberdeen, Atlantic Highlands, Fair Haven, Hazlet, Highlands, Holmdel, Keyport, Little Silver, Matawan, Middletown, Monmouth Beach, Rumson, Sea Bright, Shrewsbury, and Union Beach. Throughout the years, the Soup Crawl has raised over $6,500 for Project PAUL.

“This is a great way to support the community and have fun with your friends,” explains John Puchalski, one of the “soupervisors.” “We’ve worked with Project PAUL since the beginning of the Soup Crawl and really believe in their mission.”

The Soup Crawl is on Saturday, April 12, 2025, 2:00 pm, in Asbury Park. The crawl begins at Kim Marie’s, Kingsley Street, and includes the Wonder Bar, Ocean Avenue, and wraps up at the Asbury Ale House, Cookman Avenue. All are local Asbury Park establishments with great soup on the menu with plans to add more soup for the crawl. The crawl is free and open to all, and 100 percent of the donations go to Project PAUL.
