  • Bridge replacement work activity continues on both sides of the Shrewsbury River south of the bridge.
  • Monmouth County is in coordination with the U.S. Coast Guard regarding channel closure dates.

The county is in the construction phase of the project. The new bridge will be constructed alongside the existing bridge so traffic flow and pedestrian access will be maintained during the entire phase of construction, the county says.

Once the new movable bridge is completed, traffic will shift to the new structure and the existing bridge will then be demolished.
