Car Stolen From Rumson Driveway
Rumson monthly police report shows car theft, "smash and grab" incident among others that took place in the borough.
RUMSON, NJ — Based on the June report of police activity from Rumson police, car thefts continue to happen in the borough.
Police reported that on June 24, a Conover Lane resident told police their BMW X-5 had been stolen from the driveway overnight.
In another example of a "smash and grab" incident police have warned residents about, a Fair Haven resident on June 10 reported that while walking in Meadow Ridge Park, Ridge Road, someone broke her car window and stole her purse.

Here are other incidents reported by police to the public for June, according to information compiled by Sgt. Christopher J. Isherwood.
- June 3: A resident on Willowbrook Lane reported vandalism to an electrical box, a flagpole and a street sign in the area of Hill Pond Lane.
- June 9: A bench in Victory Park was found to have racist graffiti. The Department of Public Works removed the graffiti.
- June 9: Patrols responded to the area of Brookside Drive and Post Road for a report of a loud party in the area. They encountered a large groups of juveniles and observed discarded alcohol containers in the street and on other properties. A resident, age 51, was subsequently issued a summons for maintaining a nuisance.
- June 17: A resident on Buena Vista reported that someone had broken the glass backboard on their basketball hoop.
- June 21: Patrols responded to the area of Rumson Road and Kemp Avenue for a report of a loud party. Large groups of juveniles with alcohol and numerous vehicles were located in the area. A resident, age 58, was subsequently issued a summons for maintaining a nuisance.
- June 26: Patrolman James Camilleri located a vandalized street sign on Shrewsbury Drive, as well as racist graffiti on a tree in the area. Public Works responded to remove the damage.
