Celebrate Winter At Waterspirit Solstice Gathering In Rumson

RUMSON, NJ — Waterspirit invites the community to celebrate the winter solstice.

The event to commemorates the deeper meaning of the winter season with reflections, contemplation, music, and movement, the eco-spiritual organization says.

The celebration is Thursday, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m., both in-person and livestreamed on YouTube. In-person, go to the Waterspirit headquarters at 4 East River Road, Rumson.

The winter solstice is the longest night, when the Earth is tipped as far away from the sun as it will get this year. The official start to the cold winter season is marked by the sun seeming to stand still in the sky.

"Celebrate this longest night as we welcome the return of the longer days," says Waterspirit.
