FAIR HAVEN, NJ — Construction on River Road to install a new water main is set to start on Aug. 16 and should last for approximately six weeks.

The project will take place between Harrison Avenue in Red Bank and Bingham Avenue in Rumson. The New Jersey American Water (NJAW) will have two crews working, starting at either end of the project limits and working towards the middle.

In Fair haven, from the western border to Smith street, construction will take place during the day and there will be police presence to make sure cars can get to downtown businesses. From Smith Street to Buena Vista construction will happen at night, to avoid any need to close down businesses still recovering from COVID-19 losses.

The Borough of Fair Haven will be completing Phase III of the River Road Streetscape project, which will include the installation of curbs, sidewalks, and lighting, from Smith Street west to the Red Bank border.

Monmouth County’s River Road paving project is scheduled to be completed in late summer or early Fall 2022, after all other work on Fair Haven Road is complete.
