Curfew Set Ahead Of Mischief Night & Halloween In Rumson

RUMSON, NJ — Rumson will implement a curfew for unaccompanied minors ahead of Mischief Night and Halloween, which fall on Thursday and Friday for 2025.

On Thursday, Rumson Police said a 6 p.m. curfew will be in place for any minor unaccompanied by an adult or at a public function.

On Friday, police said the Halloween curfew will be 8 p.m. for unaccompanied minors.

Ahead of Mischief Night and Halloween, police also shared safety tips with residents, which include:

• Make sure kids wear bright or reflective tape on costumes or carry a flashlight or light sticks
• Tell kids to look both ways before crossing the street and try to only cross at corners or crosswalks
• Have a parent or responsible adult with younger children at all times
• If you’re driving, be sure to drive extra slowly or monitor leaf piles and other areas where kids may be
• Ask children not to eat any treats before they are inspected by an adult

Rumson Police will be out with extra patrols on both Mischief Night and Halloween.
