Doggie-on-Ledge Rescue

Yorkie was rescued without incident.

It was about 6:15 p.m. when a Patch friend, who asked not to be named, spotted the Navesink Hook & Ladder Co. in Red Bank rescuing a little Yorkshire terrier in a nail-biting bind out on a ledge.

The Yorkie had somehow wandered out onto the precarious spot at the Metropolitan condo building on Wallace Street. So, the firemen rescued him/her with their hook and ladder equipment.

The pup is reportedly safe and was not injured. And fire officials said that the dog was turned over to animal control after the rescue and they believe it was reunited with its owners.

No further details were immediately available.
