Drifting Boat Prompts Nighttime Rescue Search Along Swimming River

The Red Bank Green is reporting that four teenage girls are safe in Red Bank after they were rescued Saturday night from Swimming River.

The girls became distressed after losing an oar to a dinghy they’d launched earlier from Conover Lane in Middletown. They ended up drifting in the darkness of the Swimming River and landing at River Street in Red Bank. They were then assisted by a Red Bank policewoman.
