Local Foundation Donates Thousands of Books to New Jersey Kids
The Bridge of Books Foundation kicked off March with the distribution of almost 20,000 books to New Jersey kids.

New Jersey kids received almost 20,000 books from the Bridge of Books Foundation in honor of Read Across America and Dr. Seuss’ Birthday.
Beginning with Dr. Seuss’ birthday on March 2, the National Education Association promotes literacy events and reading awareness for students with their Read Across America campaign. As a constant participant in the campaign, the Bridge of Books Foundation increased their participation this year by creating reading events at the six Acelero Head Start Centers in Monmouth County. At each event, volunteers read to students from all over the County, and each student at the events went home with two books.
According to the foundation’s press release, 14,000 of the nearly 20,000 books were from an overstock donation by North South Publishing. In less than two weeks time, all of the donated books were distributed out to 14,000 pre-school aged children in seven other counties.
