Man, 75, Threatened Patron, Punched Manager At Rumson Eatery: Police
David Gulley was arrested after he threatened a patron with a steak knife, then hit the manager after a fight caught on video, police said.
RUMSON, NJ — A man was arrested Thursday night after pulling a knife on a restaurant patron and punching a manager at the Red Horse by David Burke in Rumson, Rumson Police Lieutenant Christopher Isherwood said.
David Gulley, 75, of Palm Beach Shores, Florida, was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and simple assault, Isherwood said.
Rumson police first received calls of a “man that pulled a knife” around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, according to police reports.

Police said that Gulley was taken into custody after officers witnessed him punching the manager of the restaurant in the side. Additional witness statements and phone footage of the incident confirmed that Gulley “brandished a steak knife and lunged" at another restaurant patron.
According to police, Gulley pulled a knife following an argument over wine being spilled on the patron's wife.

The patron's finger was cut in the incident, though police said he refused medical treatment.
A video of the incident was posted on Reddit.
In the video, you can hear a woman repeatedly saying “It was an accident” in reference to the wine being spilled.
A man in a white shirt asks “You got a knife in your hand?” to a man in a blue shirt at the table next to him, before the man in blue stands up and lunges at him.
