Missing Man's Body Pulled From Navesink River In Rumson: Police

Authorities say the body of an unidentified man reported missing early Tuesday morning has been recovered in Rumson from Navesink River.

RUMSON, NJ — A man reported missing early Tuesday morning in Rumson died after he went fishing, and his body has been recovered from the Navesink River, police here said.

Rumson police received a call from the Monmouth County 911 Center at approximately 5:25 a.m. regarding a missing person who had gone fishing in a kayak in the area of the Oceanic Bridge, said Chief Robert A. Boyer Tuesday afternoon.

Sea Bright Fire Rescue assisted with the search and located a body in the Navesink River, he said.

Boyer said he did not have an identification of the man at this time, and that the matter is being handled by the New Jersey State Police who are in charge of the investigation.
