RUMSON, NJ — An actor from the TV medical drama “Nip/Tuck” and his family were involved in a Jersey Shore car crash on Sunday evening.

Dylan Walsh, known for roles such as Dr. Sean McNamara on “Nip/Tuck” and Mayor Peter Chase on “Blue Bloods,” was involved in the crash with his family around 5 p.m. on Sunday at the intersection of East River and Blackpoint Roads in Rumson.

According to Rumson Police Lt. Christopher Isherwood, a 2022 Ford Explorer with five people in it was traveling north on East River Road when the car veered into the southbound lane.

The vehicle then broke through a utility pole before continuing northbound, colliding with and damaging another utility pole, police said. Two passengers in the vehicle were brought to Riverview Medical Center with complaints of pain following the crash.

In a follow-up post on Facebook, Bourque-Walsh went on to say that she and her family are now "all okay" and urged people to wear seatbelts while driving and have airbags in their vehicles.

She expressed her and her family’s thanks to the first responders who helped them during the incident.

“Over the weekend, Dylan Walsh and his family were involved in a car accident in Rumson,” a representative for Walsh told People. “Thankfully, everyone is safe and has since returned home. The family is deeply grateful for the swift response of the Rumson Police, Fire Department, and EMS, as well as the staff at Riverview Medical Center for their care.”

“They would also like to extend a special thank-you to the management and staff of The River Point Inn for their support in the immediate aftermath,” the statement continued.

As a result of Sunday's crash, Rumson Police said the intersection remained closed until 7 a.m. on Tuesday while JCP&L crews replaced both utility poles.

A subsequent power outage affected about eight residents and was restored Sunday afternoon. According to the report from People, Walsh was issued several motor vehicle summonses.

The Rumson Fire Department, Rumson EMS, and the Fair Haven and Little Silver Police Departments assisted at the scene. The incident is under investigation with the Rumson Police Department.
