Raucous Rumson Party: Teen Charged With Assault Of 2 Youths
Male, 16, charged with aggravated assault of two other youths at a party Oct. 28 on Belknap Lane; empty alcohol containers strewn in house.
RUMSON, NJ — Two juveniles were assaulted at an out-of-control teen party at a Belknap Lane home, police said, and one teen is now charged with aggravated assault.
Police were called to the house Oct. 28 after a report of an assault in progress, according to a Rumson police report.
A large number of juveniles was found "running around with discarded alcohol containers present" at the noisy party, police said.

It was determined that two male juveniles had been assaulted by another juvenile, age 16, who was then charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
The owner of the house, 47, was issued a summons for maintaining a nuisance, police said.

Other news reported by police include:
- Oct. 4: The Newark Police Department contacted Rumson to report that a vehicle stolen from a resident of Park Avenue was recovered. The resident was unaware the vehicle had been stolen. While on the scene, police located an abandoned vehicle that had been stolen out of Irvington. Patrolman Joseph Strohmenger took the report.
- Oct. 12: A Ridge Road resident called police to report two male subjects were attempting to break into his home. The suspects were gone on arrival. While investigating, patrols responded to a burglar alarm at a Dogwood Lane residence. It appeared someone had tampered with a window and had abandoned a vehicle stolen out of Jersey City. Patrolman James Camilleri took the report. Det. Donald Schneider is investigating.
- Oct. 14: A resident of Ridge Road contacted police to report their vehicle had been stolen sometime overnight. Special Officer James Wrightington took the report.
- Oct. 31: Police responded to the Rumson Pharmacy for a commercial burglar alarm at 4:27 a.m. Upon arrival they located broken glass and determined the business had been burglarized. Det. Donald Schneider is investigating.
