RUMSON, NJ — This Memorial Day weekend, Red Horse by David Burke restaurants in Bernardsville and Rumson will salute active military and veterans with a 25% discount for them and their companions.

From Friday, May 23, through Sunday, May 25, active military personnel, veterans, and guests at their table will get 25% off food and beverages.

The offer stems from a New York City-wide initiative by City Hall, which has partnered with restaurants and cultural institutions to provide discounts, free admission and other benefits to current and former members of the U.S. military.

Chef and restaurateur David Burke was part of pulling together the restaurant element and decided to extend it to his three Red Horse locations (with the third location in White Plains, NY).

Since the two NJ Red Horses will be closed on Memorial Day, the restaurants added Friday as another day for the discount.

"It is my honor and pleasure to express my appreciation to those who have served our country so well in this manner," Burke said.

The Red Horse discount applies to all food and beverages purchased during operating hours and can be redeemed by presenting current military ID, veterans ID or veterans designation on a drivers’ license.

The offer is subject to table availability, so reservations are recommended. To reverse a table, you can visit the Red Horse website.

The Red Horse by David Burke is located at 26 Ridge Road, Rumson.
