Originally based on Phillip Van Doren Stern’s short story “The Greatest Gift”, the story is filled with familiar characters: George Bailey, the dreamer and would-be adventurer who never quite makes it out of Bedford Falls, Clarence Odbody, angel second class who comes to show George that his life is too precious to throw away, Mary Hatch Bailey, George’s childhood sweetheart and faithful wife and Mr. Potter the town curmudgeon and villain of the story.
This production is filled with performances that will evoke laughter and tears, but what makes it special is the sense of community it develops so quickly. George finds that his lifetime of good works has not been in vain as all of his friends and family, neighbors and business associates come to his aid.
