Rumson DPW to Host Annual Toy Drive
All unwrapped toys collected will be donated to Family and Children's Service of Monmouth County and Salvation Army.

The Rumson (DPW) is volunteering to collect toys for children in need throughout the area.
They are hosting their 11th annual toy drive on Friday, December 9 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 10 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. They are collecting new, unwrapped toys and are hoping for big support from the community.
“All of the toys will be going to Family and Children’s Services of Monmouth County and the Salvation Army in Red Bank,” said Larry D’Angelo, coordinator of the toy drive.

Mark Wellner, superintendent of the DPW, started the annual collection over a decade ago in memory of Pete Pauels Jr. of Rumson, and it has been growing ever since. Last year the group collected one thousand toys and this year they hope to break that record.
“It is a really great cause and we are hoping to beat our numbers from last year,” said D’Angelo.

To donate toys to the drive, head to the DPW garage located behind during one of the drop off times.
There will be coffee, hot chocolate and candy canes for the kids. They will also raffle off a gift to one local donator.
