Rumson Party With 2 Juveniles 'Passed Out' On Lawn Reported
In two incidents, police in Rumson responded to underage parties in the borough.
RUMSON, NJ — Rumson police said two underage parties, including one in which two youths were passed out on a lawn, were reported in the borough in September.
On Sept. 23, patrols responded to a report of two people “passed out” on the front lawn of a home on Shrewsbury Drive. They reported an active underage party at the home. A 13-year-old male was later charged for false reports to law enforcement through the Juvenile Justice system, police said.
On Sept. 30, patrols responded to a home on Oakes Road for a report of a loud party. Police found a large juvenile party in progress at the home. The owner of the home was issued a summons for maintaining a nuisance by Ptl. Donald Morse.

Other incidents were also reported to police:
- Sept. 5: Staff at the Oceanic Library told police money was missing from the building.
- Sept 6: A resident from Ridge Road came into police headquarters to report a bicycle valued at $450 had been stolen from their property.
- Sept 25: Patrols responded to a home on Post Road for a report of a burglary. The home was currently under construction and the property had been damaged over the previous weekend.
Police also made an arrest of a Piscataway man, 22, for hindering apprehension, in the area of Rumson Road and Tennis Court Lane. Ptl. James Camilleri made the arrest.
