A longtime resident of Fair Haven, Rinn has deep ties to the Irish community. His maternal great-great-grandfather, John McIntyre, immigrated from Ireland to the US through Castle Garden, the country’s first immigrant processing center before Ellis Island.

Rinn further deepened his connection to his Irish roots during a 2022 journey through the Emerald Isle, traveling across the county from Ballyheigue to Dublin.

On March 9, he’ll lead a collection of floats, bagpipe bands and more at the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

“It’s an incredible honor to be selected as the Grand Marshal of the Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade,” Rinn said. “This event speaks to the strength of our community, our shared heritage, and our ability to come together to support organizations making a real difference. I look forward to marching alongside neighbors and friends on March 9th.”

Since its inception in 2013, the St. Patrick's Day Parade has grown exponentially, drawing thousands of spectators and participants each year. To date, the parade has donated to over 22 local organizations, making a lasting impact across the region.

Past Grand Marshals for the parade have included leaders such as Governor Phil Murphy, Brigadier General Pete Dawkins and OceanFirst Bank Chairman Christopher Maher.

As the leader of VNA Health Group (one of the nation’s largest non-profit providers of home health care, hospice, and community-based care) Rinn embodies the parade’s mission of giving back.

His dedication extends past his professional role, as he also serves as Vice Chair of the YMCA of Greater Monmouth County’s Board of Directors, a former councilman of Fair Haven Borough, and an active supporter of local charities and non-profits.

“Christopher embodies the values of service and community that the Rumson St. Patrick’s Day Parade celebrates,” said Chris Smith, co-chair of the Parade Committee and Little Silver councilman. “We’re proud to have him as our Grand Marshal, and we know his leadership and dedication will inspire others to support this year’s parade and its mission.”
