Three Cars Stolen In Rumson In Past Week, Police Say
Two cars were unlocked with keys in the car; a third car was stolen after a forced entry into a garage, Rumson police report.

RUMSON, NJ — Rumson police have reported that, during the past week, three cars were stolen in the borough, and unsuccessful attempts were made to steal other locked vehicles.
Two of the thefts involved unlocked cars with the keys in the vehicles. The other theft was a forced entry into a garage where the vehicle was then stolen, police said in the news release.
Police are asking are asking all residents to lock their cars and remove valuables and garage door openers.

On Aug. 7, police circulated home security video that showed people walking on private property in search of unlocked cars, they reported.
If a resident has a security system, police urge residents to use it and to keep all doors locked, including interior garage doors.
