Two Vehicles Stolen In Rumson Recently, Police Update Says
In a report about police activity in Rumson, two vehicles were reported stolen and a home was burglarized, among other incidents.

RUMSON, NJ — Police reported recently that two vehicles were stolen from their owners' driveways in late May in the borough.
- May 22: A resident on North Rohallion reported their Mercedes Benz had been stolen from the driveway overnight. Patrolman Donald Morse took the report.
- May 28: A resident on Highland Avenue reported their Ford truck had been stolen from the driveway overnight. Patrolman Timothy Lackner took the report.
Also a house was burglarized when no one was home:
- May 27: Patrols responded to a residence on Conover Lane after a neighbor reported an audible alarm sounding. It was discovered that the home had been forcibly entered and burglarized when no one was home. Sgt. Daniel Campanella took the report.

To prevent burglaries, always lock doors and windows when your home is not occupied. Secure all valuables in a safety deposit box or keep those valuables safely hidden. Most often when a burglary occurs, there is no forcible entry.
Regarding cars, police remind residents to lock all vehicles in your driveway and remove anything that someone would be tempted to take.

Residents can report any suspicious activity to the department at 732-842-0500.
Here are other incidents reported in the borough by police in May:
- May 12: A resident reported profanity, including a racial slur, written on playground equipment at Victory Park. Patrolman Lackner took the report.
- May 15: A resident reported graffiti and vandalism to a public bathroom at Victory Park. Patrolman Troy Malone took the report.
- May 23: A Department of Public Works employee reported graffiti written in black marker on playground equipment in Victory Park. Patrolman Lackner took the report.
The police also reported they made two arrests:
- A Red Bank man was arrested May 28 by Patrolman James Camilleri for driving with a suspended license in the area of Rumson Road and Ward Avenue.
- A Rumson man was arrested May 29 by Patrolman Camilleri for simple assault, in the area of Rumson Road and Hance Road.
