Volunteers Wanted To Help Out At 2023 Fair Haven Firemen's Fair
Volunteering at the Fair Haven Firemen's Fair, starting Aug. 25, can be fun and a good experience. Check out the ways you can join up.

FAIR HAVEN, NJ — The Fair Haven Firemen's Fair is putting out the call for volunteers for the big event, which begins Aug. 25.
Volunteers can help out in the "Outback" food preparation area or in a game booth, if you are the right age, says Personnel Chairman Rich Brister.
There are requirements, so check them out online at the Fair Haven Volunteer Fire Co. #1 website. Look through the requirements, pick your day(s) and submit the form. You’ll get an email confirmation and hear back.

There is a 50-50 Drawing on Sept. 2 at 10:45 p.m. Last year’s winner took home more than $16,000. There will also be hourly 50-50 drawings and First Aid Squad and Auxiliary Prize raffles.
But if you plan to volunteer, rather than just enjoy yourself at the fair, here are some guidelines:
Outback requirements:
- Children 15 years old and younger are not allowed in the Outback. This is a safety issue as there are many hot surfaces and it is a food preparation area.
- You must be 16 years or older to volunteer in the Outback.
Game booth requirements:
- You must be 18 years or older to operate a game booth.
Dining area requirements:
- Servers must by 18 years of age or older. No experience is necessary, but volunteers need to handle the pressure of a “first seating,” organizers say.
