357 Unit Mixed-Use Development Is Coming To Union County
The project includes two 11-story buildings, one 5-story building and one 4-story building, 357 housing units, and two rooftop restaurants.
PLAINFIELD, NJ — One of the largest mixed-use residential development projects in decades was unanimously approved Thursday night by the Plainfield Planning Board.
The project, part of the TODD West Redevelopment Area, consists of four separate buildings – two 11-story buildings, one five-story building and one four-story building.
The development consists of 357 housing units, 32,200 square feet of commercial tenant space, including two rooftop restaurants and 354 on-site parking spaces. The apartments will be a mix of one-bedroom, two-bedroom and studio units.

The development has more than 10,000 square feet of interior residential amenity space and more than 24,000 square feet of outdoor rooftop amenity deck.
This development will serve as a gateway to Plainfield on its western end along West Front
Street, essentially the entrance to the heart of downtown.

Building amenities include a 2,250 square foot second-floor lounge walking out onto a
6,000 square foot roof deck overlooking an adjacent park, as well as a 12,500 square foot roof deck
on the 11th floor of the largest building. Other amenities include a 3,000 square foot fitness center, first-floor lounge, media center, conference room, business center, as well as bike and tenant storage areas.
Three of the four buildings boast rooftop amenity decks with a view of the city and surrounding towns. The two 11-story buildings propose a rooftop restaurant and rooftop café respectively. Each is available to the public.
