Recently, Cadet 2d Lt Julian Yee, of the Lone Eagle Composite Squadron, was presented with his Civil Air Patrol(CAP) Billy Mitchell Award by Capt. Adam Fitting, Commander, at the Morristown Armory, Morristown, NJ. Cadet Yee is the son of Mr. Ho Yee and 2d Lt. Serena Lee of Scotch Plains, NJ, and is a freshman at the Union County Magnet High School for Science, Mathematics, and Technology.

His many CAP activities include serving as flight sergeant of ‘A’ Flight at the one-week CT Wing Basic Encampment as well as participating in the NJWG Cadet NCO Academy, WAWG Cyber Education Academy, Cadet Orientation Flights, Wreaths Across America ceremonies, and Memorial Day parades. Further, he was appointed as the Squadron representative for the NJWG Cadet Advisory Council.

The Billy Mitchell award, the second cadet milestone achievement, is earned after the successful completion of the first eight achievements of the cadet program. In addition to the achievements, the cadet must pass a comprehensive examination on aerospace and leadership and attend a Basic Encampment. Only about 15% of all Civil Air Patrol cadets achieve the Billy Mitchell Award.
