Borough Of Fanwood: Sewer Bill 2022 Information

The Fanwood Borough Council established the Fanwood Sewer Utility (FSU) in April 2018 in order to begin the critical process of addressing ongoing support to the Borough’s aging sewer infrastructure. At that time, an annual fee for residential and commercial users was created to fund the Utility. In 2021, the borough council created a new structure that makes the fees fairer and more equitable for all users. However, accurate billing was compromised by a lack of 12 months of data from the water company for 2020. We are pleased to report that for 2022, we have had access to all 12 months of billing from NJ American Water. As a result, your sewer bill is now an accurate reflection of water usage in your home in 2021. We are also pleased to report several things for 2022:

- Most residents (75% of households) will receive sewer bills that fall into Tier 1 and Tier 2. For many, this will mean a reduction in your bill from the previous year.
- The borough council did not raise sewer rates for residents in Tier 1 and 2 for this year, leaving them at $75 and $150 respectively.
