C/MSgt Julian K. Yee, CAP, the son of Ho Yee and 2d Lt. Serena Lee of Scotch Plains, NJ, was recently promoted to his rank for completion of achievement 5 within the Lone Eagle Composite Squadron by Captain Adam Fitting, Squadron Commander. He is in 8th grade at Terrill Middle School, and will attend the Union County Magnet High School, one of the top 10 public high schools in NJ, starting Fall 2025. He is interested in aerospace engineering and wants to become a pilot in the future. He is also working toward a third-degree blackbelt in Taekwondo and a Grade 8 ABRSM piano exam.

His mother, senior member 2d Lt. Serena Lee, who joined shortly after her son, received the Civil Air Patrol Brig. Gen. Charles “Chuck” Yeager Award. This award honors Civil Air Patrol senior members who pass a lengthy aerospace knowledge exam. It is named in honor of BGen Chuck Yeager, the first pilot to break the sound barrier.

2d Lt. Lee mentioned, “It was my honor to be presented with the Yeager Award. I enjoyed learning about aerospace education and emergency services along with my son at the Squadron. I was very excited to receive an achievement along with my son at the same meeting. I am here to support not only him, but all cadets at the Lone Eagle Composite Squadron. I hope our cadets continue pursuing their dreams and striving for excellence.”
