Congregation Beth Israel Honors Congregant With “Women of Achievement” Award
Laura Queller Wins Award for Contributions to Congregation Beth Israel's Sisterhood
The Sisterhood of Congregation Beth Israel (CBI) in Scotch Plains honored Laura Queller at the Women of Achievement Gala, held at Congregation B’nai Tikvah in North Brunswick, NJ, on Monday, June 9. The event was sponsored by the Garden State Region of Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, the umbrella organization for Sisterhoods within the Conservative Jewish movement.
The Women of Achievement Gala honored one woman from each of the 28 Sisterhoods in its New Jersey region. According to the program, each honoree was chosen “for her outstanding service to her Sisterhood, Synagogue, or Community.”
Laura Queller, of Westfield, has been an active member of Congregation Beth Israel for more than 35 years. Her commitment to CBI’s Sisterhood followed soon after she and her family joined the synagogue, and she has held various leadership roles in the organization, including past president.
