Fanwood Library Demolition Imminent, Temporary Library Up And Running

More bittersweet moments are in store in the coming days for supporters of the Fanwood Memorial Library as final preparations are made to tear down the 70-year old building at North Avenue and Tillotson Road.

The Friends of the Fanwood Library, volunteers who support and raise funds for the library, were joined by Library Director Dan Weiss, Mayor Colleen Mahr, Council members Anthony Carter and Trisha Walsh, Library Trustee President Ann Minski, Vice President Jane Frost-Guzzo and Secretary Jenn Coppock-Huegel on December 4th for a last look at the building, inside and out.

When the final utility disconnections are completed, demolition of the building will begin. The site will be fenced off and parking around the site will be restricted. Remaining furniture and fixtures inside will be sold at auction.
