Scotch Plains Synagogue to Host Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Gratitude Service
Congregation Beth Israel (CBI) in Scotch Plains will host the community’s annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Gratitude Service on Monday, November 25, at 7:00 p.m. The service is free and open to the community.
The program can also be streamed live at: CBINJ.org/Livestream (password: Thanks).
The Thanksgiving service is sponsored by the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Ministerium, which is comprised of local faith leaders, town mayors, the Scotch Plains-Fanwood School Superintendent and the heads of several non-profit organizations. The houses of worship in Scotch Plains-Fanwood take turns hosting the program, which is held on the Monday preceding Thanksgiving.

“We are honored to host this year’s community service,” said Rabbi Howard Tilman of Congregation Beth Israel. “This service always provides a wonderful opportunity for us to gather together and give thanks for all that unites us. In particularly divisive times, it’s that much more important for communities to come together and express our gratitude.”
During the service, CBI’s Cantor Jacob Greenberg, along with CBI’s Cantor Emeritus Matt Axelrod, will conduct the Interfaith Community Choir, comprised of members of many different churches and synagogues throughout Scotch Plains and Fanwood.
