Man Severely Injured In Motorcycle Crash On Rt. 22, GoFundMe Launched
Eddie Orellano was riding his motorcycle on Route 22 when he was hit by a car switching lanes. He is now facing serious injuries.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — Eddie Orellano of Scotch Plains was riding his motorcycle on Route 22 in Springfield when he was hit by a car switching lanes. Now facing severe injuries, the Orellano family are in need of help.
Orellano, 48, was hit on July 18 when a car crossed from the far right lane to the left lane where he was riding on Route 22. The impact of the crash resulted in major damage to the right side of Orellano's body, according to a GoFundMe that was created for his family.
Orellano was rushed to University Hospital and has been recovering in the Trauma Unit ever since. The GoFundMe states that he suffered a main artery rupture in his leg and has a broken femur bone. In addition, he broke his foot in several places and his hand on impact.

So far, Orellano has has five surgeries to repair the affected areas including a rod in his leg, skin grafting, and the GoFundMe says he will need two to three more surgeries before he his done.
As a result, Orellano will need to be placed in a rehabilitation center for three to four weeks. Because Orellano will be out of work while he recovers, the family is asking for donations.

More than $1,350 has been raised for the family as of Wednesday, and the goal is to reach $5,000.
