Remember When The Who Played Union Catholic?

They played Madison Square Garden and were a featured act at Woodstock but before The Who became famous in the United States, they were playing gigs at venues like Union Catholic in Scotch Plains in the late 60s.

The Star Ledger reports that before "My Generation" and "The Kids Are Alright" became a part of the American rock and roll landscape, the English band would book high school gyms in the United States in an effort to bring their success across the pond.

The Who played at the Scotch Plains high school on Nov. 29, 1967 and performed many of their now classics, including "I Can See for Miles," and practiced what would become some of their trademark performance moves, like Pete Townshend's windmill guitar playing.
