Sheelen's Fish Market In Fanwood Relocating, Combining With Bistro/Pub
The two fish restaurants in Fanwood are combining into a one-stop shop for curbside pick-ups, dine-in meals and drinks at the pub.
FANWOOD, NJ — After persevering through financial challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic and now rising inflation, Sheelen's Fish Market in Fanwood will be leaving its current location.
The market will no longer serve fish at its current South Avenue location but will relocate and combine with Sheelen's Crossing Bistro & Pub at 200 South Avenue — just one third of a mile down the road.
According to owners Sean Flannery and Frank Pascale, who have 30 years of experience in the restaurant industry, they found it best to combine the two restaurants into a one-stop shop for curbside pickups, dine-in meals and drinks at the pub.

Flannery said they are hoping to launch this new combined restaurant — now called "Sheelen's Seafood & Suds" — by Nov. 15.
"My slogan is support local or there won't be a local," Flannery told Patch.

He said this move was necessary because of the financial issues the business is facing and combining the stores will allow them to open up seven days a week for longer hours.
The owners are also focused on keeping all their employees and are proud to share that no employees, from either Fish Market locations or Sheelen’s Crossing, were let go since the pandemic and during this transition.
All of Sheelen’s Fish Market employees will be working at the new fish market-restaurant-pub location.
According to Flannery, the same Sheelen’s Fish Market menu offerings will be available at the 200 South Ave location, including fresh fish, lobster and lobster rolls, fish tacos, prepared dishes and house made soups.
New additions will include lobster tails, king crabs and snow crabs.
Sheelen's will offer curbside pick-up, as well as delivery from DoorDash, GrubHub and Uber Eats.
Designated parking spots are on the side of the building and on South Ave.
An updated menu is in the works, too, which includes all Sheelen’s Crossing menu favorites like wings, burgers, sliders, appetizers and more.
The new name, Sheelen's Seafood and Suds, is inspired by the fresh seafood delivered daily, 12+ suds (beer) drafts, cocktails, prepared Fish Market dishes and classic Sheelen’s Crossing dishes served, according to the owners.
The location will be open 7 days a week with official hours of operation coming soon.
